WWE 2K18 Won't Have Paid Microtransactions, 2K Confirms

WWE 2K18 is set to be released on the 13th of October and is expected to add new features to the much acclaimed "MyPlayer" offering which has been a part of four 2K series games so far. It will allow players to take their favorite WWE Superstars, as well as their created characters and have them go head-to-head in one of WWE's three shows which include Raw, SmackDown Live, and NXT. MyPLAYER provides eight fighting classes to choose from, ranging from the speed-focused High Flyer to the power-heavy Giant. In the meantime, check out a screenshot gallery of both MyPlayer and Road to Glory by clicking the image below.

Announcing the new via Twitter, The official WWE 2K18 accounted noted that the game has no paid microtransactions. Once qualified for a PPV event, players will still need to compete against each other to complete the most challenges so they can become part of the Main Event. MyPLAYER characters will increase in strength as gamers progress through the MyCAREER and the Road to Glory modes, improving the sense of character growth. You can either use your MyCareer character in this mode or create a completely new one to use in your online matches. Bear in mind, the game will have loot boxes, but these are unlocked via in-game currency only. Why not just return to the classic style and let players unlock things with specific criteria?
