McDonald's Is Bringing Back Szechuan Sauce Just For One Day

Following the Rick And Morty joke, fans mounted various online campaigns urging Maccy D's to bring back the 20-year-old dipping sauce.

The fast food chain will make the discontinued sauce available at select locations on October 7.

Of course, it hasn't even been 24 hours since the season finale of Rick and Morty and I'm already starting to go into withdrawal. Ever since Rick and Morty popularized the delicious 1998 Mulan Szechuan Teriyaki sauce, it was inevitable that McDonald's would eventually cave to the enormous fan demand for this classic, forgotten flavor.

The quantities of the sauce is apparently so limited, a handy McDonald's locator pinpoints the closest Szechuan Sauce-dealing McDonald's.

At the time, Roiland shared a photo of the half-gallon, enthusiastically announcing to his followers that "we f--ing did it" in his caption.

Will you be heading to McDonald's on October 7th or has the Szechuan sauce been hyped up too much? You can find the closest location involved in this promotion at McDonald's website for the event, but make sure you check your individual location to make sure it will be carrying the Szechuan sauce, because not every McDonald's involved will have it in stock.

"Rick and Morty" fans petitioned for the sauce to be brought back and was highlighted in the surprise April 1 season 3 premiere on TV's Adult Swim.

Co-creator Justin Roiland was sent a huge jug of sauce earlier this year, and Deadmau5 reportedly bought a bottle for $15,000. The whole thing got so huge that McDonalds itself is officially rereleasing the sauce all thanks to the show. "Super limited run Szechuan Sauce, only on [7 October]!" McDonald's reportedly said the roll out is "really, really limited".

As the show's main character, Rick, says, "If it takes nine seasons, I want my McNugget dipping sauce!"
