BSF Jawan killed by Pak firing in Arnia sector

A Border Security Force (BSF) soldier was killed in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Arnia sector of Jammu district in Jammu and Kashmir state on Friday, media reports said. "BSF troopers are retaliating emphatically and successfully", said BSF sources to IANS news office. The crossfire continued from midnight till the morning hours of Friday.

Two Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory action by the BSF yesterday while three Indian jawans were injured in unprovoked firing and shelling by Pakistani troops along the IB and the LoC in Jammu and Poonch districts on Wednesday.

"They used mortars, automatics and small arms to target nine BSF posts in Arnia", the official said.

Identified as Constable Bijender Bahadur, a bullet hit him on the left side of his abdomen and he succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital, a BSF officer said.

"One BSF trooper has been executed in truce infringement by Pakistan officers".

The 32-year-old officer had a place with Vidya Bhawan Naraypur town in Uttar Pradesh's Balia locale. One civilian too has been injured in the incident.

Earlier, on September 4, BSF men had foiled an infiltration bid of militants along International Border (IB) in Arnia sector of Jammu by killing a militant. "Fear gripped us after heavy and unprovoked firing and shelling by Pakistan". Episodes of truce infringement by Pakistani troops have expanded strongly this year.
