Blizzard Show Off New Map and Animated Short for Overwatch

Everyone new Junkertown was coming, a brand new map for Overwatch, after an announcer voiceline was datamined stating "Welcome to Junkertown". But after stealing from the queen of Junkertown, our favourite Junkers Roadhog and Junkrat were exiled.

As part of its Gamescom preview stream today, Blizzard revealed a number of new details about its games.

Along with announcing the new map, Blizzard also released a new animated short starring Junkrat and Roadhog. It's themed around Junkrat and Roadhog, of course, and it even has its own special video intro. The firm has already confirmed that the player will be playable at the show, so it's a ideal time to showcase him/her to the world!

The aforementioned teaser has the Queen of Junkertown making a speech throughout the video, as a show of power.

Published by parent company Activision, sci-fi shooter Destiny 2 has a 15-minute broadcast planned the following day, separate from the Blizzard reveal ceremony. On top of that, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that Overwatch and Heroes Of The Storm may see the addition of a couple of heroes. It's clearly very Mad Max-inspired, which is fitting since the maps released for the game thus far are mostly clean and hopeful. The fight ultimately led to the destruction of an omnium fusion core, irradiating the Outback wasteland.

Here's what you need to know. Overwatch is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
