"I am Mukesh Kumar Pandey, IAS, 2012 batch, posted as DM buxar".

Pandey was a resident of Parag Das Path of Bamunimaidam in the city. Before ending his life, the official, who is survived by his wife and two-month-old daughter, had recorded a video in which he said that he was unhappy in his personal life and his relations with his wife had grown bitter. Pandey, who originally hailed from Bihar's Chhapra was a resident of Guwahati's Bamunimaidam area. His cell phone and the suicide note which was kept in a Nike bag was recovered from Room No. 742 of Hotel Leela Palace in Delhi. The investigation team also found a suicide note from him. He said in the text message that he was “fed up with life.”.

His family members had informed Delhi Police immediately after getting his message. The police carried out searches in nearby malls, hotels and even shut down some shops and the entrance to the top floors to scan the corridors but he could not be traced. Mukesh's wife and father-in-law, who was staying in Delhi in fear of a bad news, reached the hotel but his fear proved right after reaching there. He landed in Delhi on 10th August and almost 10 hours later he was found dead on the railways tracks in Ghaziabad. This call was made to let the other person know that he was committing suicide.
