'GLOW': Netflix Renews Women's Wrestling Comedy For Season 2

The show was inspired by the 1980s TV series about women's wrestling. Set in 1985, GLOW follows Ruth Wilder, played by Alison Brie, who is an actress struggling to find work. GLOW is created by Liz Flahive (Homeland, Nurse Jackie) and Carly Mensch (Nurse Jackie, Orange Is The New Black, Weeds). Netflix announced the news Thursday on Twitter, along with a promise of "more glitz" and "more glam" in GLOW Season 2, according to a report from Deadline, Season 2 of the all-female wrestling show will be 10 episodes long. Marvel's Iron Fist, 13 Reasons Why, Dear White People, One Day at a Time, and Santa Clarita Diet were also all renewed for a second season. It combines comedy and a slice of life to make a series that focuses on what women are capable of despite the circumstance of everyday living.

Thier original shows and films are becoming extremely popular and one show that seemed to really win the hearts of viewers was GLOW.

Netflix made the announcement though a rather terse press release, stating only that the series will be renewed for a ten-episode second season.
