Dozens of police officers have been seen swooping in on an Ibis hotel this evening following reports of a man "with a gun and a knife".

The spokesperson added that police are now investigating the incident but they believe the infants death was the result of a tragic accident.

She described seeing police talking to a "little girl on a bench" who "appears to be wrapped in a towel".
