Temperatures will steadily rise from around 82 to 87 degrees during that period. A few isolated showers are possible through morning, so grab the umbrella heading out the door.

This will especially be the case if some sun can work out earlier in the morning, helping temperatures rise into the 70s from morning lows in the mid 60s. There are also some hazy spots.

Activity this afternoon will have some dependency on how much sun we see before the front arrives.

In the coming week, drier air is expected, particularly in the Tuesday-Wednesday time frame.

Today's predicted high is several degrees lower than Topeka's average high temperature for August 11, which is 89 degrees. The high will be near 83, with a calm wind becoming north northeast around 6 miles per hour in the morning.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy - low around 64.

The weekend forecast for the Omaha area calls for mild conditions and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday.

Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Showers and thunderstorms pop up during the afternoon.

Strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail are possible, according to a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service.

Little change in our forecast as we are going see more rain and storms. Low temperatures Thursday morning should be in the lower 70s.

This threat is very low, and is not expected to be widespread.

NEXT WEEK: Monday brings another quiet day in weather. Mostly cloudy with a low around 71. That rain will last into Saturday, but we should still salvage part of the weekend at least. Although this isn't a washout, there will be a chance of a few showers. In fact, we'll watch the skies gradually clear over us - making for plenty of afternoon sunshine.

Temperatures at the beaches this weekend should reach highs in the mid to high 80s, and water temperatures should be in the mid 80s. The low at night will be around 66.
