The Hollywood Reporter and other trade publications earlier Monday reported that marketing materials related to the "Game of Thrones" drama series and emails from an HBO vice president, covering a six-month period, were posted online.

HBO's chief said on Wednesday that the company is conducting a forensic review of its computer systems to better understand the scope of a cyber attack that surfaced over the weekend. HBO released a statement on Monday indicating that the company does not believe its entire internal email system has been compromised. The attackers reportedly stole 1.5GB of data, including unreleased episodes of certain shows as well as screenplay drafts for Game of Thrones episodes. "We don't want to endanger HBO's situation nor cause it to lose its reputation", Mr. Smith says in the video.

HBO said it is continuing to investigate and is working with police and cybersecurity experts.
