Tottenham confirm Josh Onomah loan to Aston Villa, new contract

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Josh Onomah has revealed that he is well aware of the fact that his new side Aston Villa are looking to gain promotion this season and he is focused on helping them achieve that feat.

Tottenham midfielder Joshua Onomah has joined Championship club Aston Villa on loan.

Twelve months from now, I hope we're scheming how to stop him as he suits up for Spurs on the opening day of the Premier League season against our Villa.

However, the north London side are willing to send him out on loan ahead of the new campaign, with Steve Bruce winning the chase for the exciting midfielder.

But there's more, and it's important if you are a fan of Joshy: at the same time, the club also announced that Onomah has signed a new contract that will keep him a Tottenham player through 2020-21.

An under-20 World Cup victor with England this summer, the youngster becomes Villa's sixth signing of the summer, following the likes of John Terry, Christopher Samba and Glenn Whelan and could play a vital role in the club's push for promotion to the Premier League.

He becomes Villa's second loan signing of the summer, following Sam Johnstone's decision to return on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

"There were a lot of rumours about his position on the pitch".

He told reporters: "I think it's clear that Josh is a potential first team player like Cameron Carter-Vickers and Harry Winks, like all the young players in our academy. He needs to prove himself that he can play".

This is a huge football club and I want to really make my mark here.
