Google is courting developers to build high-quality products which could solve problems in India.

At the summit, Google brought together over 700 Indian app and games developers, where the company shared tips and tools to help developers create the best quality Android apps that are locally relevant. Earlier this month, next-gen fraud protection software, Anura, announced that more than a thousand of such apps have been identified in the Google Play Store.

Leading communication app Truecaller on 1 August announced it has integrated with video calling app Google Duo that will allow users to make video calls directly through Truecaller on Android and iOS platforms. When you uninstall the Play services, some apps will give you the error that you need to install or update the Google Play services to run the app.

The Made in India apps will be a category of apps that meets these requirements and right now, Soni explained, developers can apply online to have their app reviewed to see if it meets these requirements.

Since Google has introduced diverse and convenient forms of payment for Indian consumers, the consumer spend on apps and games is growing at 3X in India. So what that means is that at some point over five billion devices were used that had Google Play Services installed on them.
