Google Pixel 2 and XL 2 leak: what's in store for consumers?

We hope that this means the new Pixel duo will be IP68-certified, because, otherwise, a lot of fans will probably be outraged.

We note that the XL version of the Pixel 2 shows a screen without edges but not the version of smaller size.

While there are no final decisions on the topic, an internal Google document seen by 9to5Google points to the removal of the headphone jack. It also denies the possibility of the dual camera in any variant of next generation Pixel phones. Google for some unknown reasons has removed the 3.5mm jack port on both the Pixel 2 (s). The camera lens in the leaked renders of the new phone look bigger than its predecessor and might be better as well. The leaked renders suggest that Google's next flagship devices will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

There are not much we know about the specifications of these devices, although they are rumored to come with the yet-to-launch Snapdragon 836 chipset and the latest Android OS out of the box.

The two renderings presented by @OnLeaks provide for them also the end of the jack for the Google Pixel 2. The small glass panel also only houses the camera sensor and the flash, with the fingerprint scanner now embedded on the main metal back panel. The phones shown in the renders are said to feature minimal side bezels as compared to the original Pixel and Pixel XL.

Apart from this, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are rumoured to feature a 4.95-inch full HD and 5.99-inch QHD display, respectively.

Fall is coming, and with it, you can expect an even more brutal onslaught of new high-end smartphones than back in the spring. However, renders of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have surfaced on the internet before the launch.
