Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, the host of the Tamil version of reality show Bigg Boss slammed critics who objected to the reality programme claiming that the show was demeaning Tamil culture and depicting absence content. I can not accept the fact that the show is killing our culture and tradition. In its police complaint, the nationalist Hindu party demanded that the contestants of the show - such as Oviya, Namitha, Ganja Karuppu and Harathi among others - be arrested as well. I have done kissing scenes in the films. "The reality show should be immediately banned to save the Tamil culture and values", read the letter addressed to the police commissioner.

On Wednesday's press meet, Kamal Haasan has talked about a lot of things including his view on Bigg Boss controversy, GST, Kerala actress' abduction case, ticket pricing in Tamil Nadu and double taxation.

However, Haasan also suggested that he wasn't anxious about the groups and said that law and justice machinery would protect him. "They are throwing darts at me. "Bigg Boss" is as important as cricket for the people of this nation", he said here, while addressing the media on the issue.

"I am not anxious about the case against Bigg Boss or me".

"If these allegations had any rationale to it, I would have apologised, " Haasan added.

Highlighting the presence of one participant, the group said she was chosen for the show after she raised slogans against Bharatiya Janta Party during the Jallikattu protests earlier this year. "Hindu Makkal Katchi repeatedly targets me because of the colour of the dress I wear". The Hindu Makkal Katchi also had filed a case against Kamal Haasan in March this year for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Mahabharata. The group has demanded that Mr. Haasan stop hosting the show.
