Vogel will be making his debut in the next "Muppets Thought of the Week" video, according to Muppets fan site Tough Pigs.

Vogel has been with the Muppets since 1996, and is now the performer behind Camilla the Chicken and Sesame Street's The Count. "We will be seeing Matt's first footage as Kermit in a "Muppets Thought of the Week" video next week".

Steve Whitmire, the actor who has provided the voice for the Muppets' Kermit the Frog for more than 25 years, has been replaced. He also voiced several characters in popular children's TV show "Fraggle Rock" from 1983 to 1987, including Flange Doozer, Sprocket and Wembley Fraggle. Whitmire's other Muppet characters include Rizzo the Rat, Beaker, and Statler.

Similarly, fans expressed on Twitter that they were "devastated" and "crushed" over news of Whitmire's departure. Over the years, he's inherited various characters, including taking on the role of Kermit when Jim Henson passed. According to a tweet, Steve performed for Jane Henson at an airport coffee shop. The news has only recently been confirmed with Disney by ToughPigs.

Meanwhile, Vogel has been a Muppet performer since 1996. He's also voiced Big Bird and The Count on "Sesame Street". In addition to playing Constantine, he has taken on classic Muppet characters Lew Zealand, Floyd Pepper, and the Count.
