Hawley assumed she was the victim of a robbery and called the police.

The responding officer inspected the home and found minor damage to the apartment and noted food was taken from the freezer.

"Oh yeah, we love bears, just maybe not in our own house", Hawley explained.

Vail Police say a black bear made its way into a home in the 4000 block of Meadow Drive in East Vail on May 31. But her surveillance cameras captured the intruder, which had four paws.

After she reported the incident to police, Hawley took a look at her home security footage where she saw the bear wandering around her apartment.

"I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, there's the bear, '" Katie Haley, the daughter of the homeowner, said.

The video shows the bear peering out a window (that might really be why it was on the piano), and it also captured the bear strutting around the living room.

The video struck a viral chord this week on the internet.

The bear can be seen grabbing some peanut butter and frozen berries for a snack before heading over to the piano.
