Snap stock falls as alleged CEO comments rile some on social media

Now this is nothing new, given Snapchat's camera has had AR-style lenses for sometime. Snapchat's ratings have also taken a dip following coverage about this issue in various media outlets.

Anthony Pompliano says Mr Spiegel told a meeting "I don't want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain".

The most recent hackers claim to have hacked the Snapchat app a year ago, but it appears they only leaked the data onto the dark web in response to Spiegel's comments. So we focus on a lot of things like Facebook Lite. The timing of the statement makes it kind of hard to miss.

Given the fact that "Snap Chat" and "Snap deal" share the common word "snap" in their titles, some of the Indian netizens who've made a decision to boycott photo-sharing app "Snap Chat" are uninstalling the e-commerce app out of confusion. The comment became public after documents from a lawsuit against Snapchat were made public. Snapchat was forced to respond that it's "for everyone" after a lawsuit claimed Spiegel had said the app was "only for rich people".

A group of hackers in India have published the personal details of what it claims are 1.7 million Snapchat users, after the company's CEO allegedly called the country "poor".

Interestingly Zuckerberg also spoke about the perception that Facebook was copying Snapchat too much, and said he wasn't anxious about the criticism.

Mark Zuckerberg kicked off Facebook's annual developers conference Tuesday, and more than 4,000 software developers will attend the two day conference in Silicon Valley.

The logo of messaging app Snapchat is seen at a booth at TechFair LA, a technology job fair, in Los Angeles, California, U.S., January 26.
