One Wounded in West Bank Car-ramming Attack
Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian driver who rammed his vehicle into a bus stop in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday injuring a pedestrian, the army and a hospital spokesman said.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the attacker died of his wounds and the IDF confirmed the report.
Yossi Hess, a senior EMT, said that when he "arrived at the scene, I saw one person suffering from a head wound".
According to Ma'an documentation, Mashahra is the 19th Palestinian to have been killed by Israelis since the beginning of the year.
The man, an Israeli civilian in his 60s, was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem for treatment.
The junction has been the scene of many attacks since the current wave of violence began more than one and a half years ago.
Earlier this month, an IDF soldier Sgt. Elhai Teharlev, 20, was killed in a similar car-ramming attack near Ofra in the West Bank.
Israeli officials have said that numerous attackers have done so due to personal problems, with some, like Friday's attacker, hoping to commit suicide by cop or soldier.
A Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli forces at a junction near the illegal Israeli settlement of Gush Etzion in the southern occupied West Bank this afternoon.
A number of deadly terror attacks have taken place at this intersection in the past.
