The Chicago Bulls powered past the Boston Celtics 111-97 Tuesday to take a 2-0 lead over the Eastern Conference top seeds in their National Basketball Association playoff series, while the Toronto Raptors avoided falling into an 0-2 hole.

Celtics guard Marcus Smart was fined $25,000 for making an obscene gesture toward a fan during Tuesday's Game 2 loss to the Chicago Bulls, the league announced Wednesday.

"I'm not surprised because everybody's so locked in right now", Jimmy Butler said after his 22 points, eight rebounds and four steals helped the Bulls earn a 111-97 victory over Boston in Game 2 on Tuesday night. But fans let him know they didn't like that three-pointer (Smart shot an abysmal 28 percent from long range during the regular season), following up the miss with a round of boos.

The thing I look at the most is Isaiah Thomas. If the Celtics want to come back in this series, they'll have to start there, on the road in front of a raucous Bulls crowd. Butler has been a perennial all-star and averaged 23.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.2 rebounds per game.

The Celtics are the No. 1 seed for a reason. But Boston was just 10 of 33 from 3-point range.

Thomas was again unavailable to the media after the game.

As brother Brook continued to inch towards a personal legacy just across town, it appeared as though the other Lopez would never escape the shadow his twin brother cast on him once the two of them finished their playing days at Stanford University.

"We have to play hard no matter what", Bradley said.
