However, many reports have been claiming that the device expected to be launched on Monday would most likely be the Redmi 4A, which was originally launched alongside with Xiaomi Redmi 4 in China, back in November, last year.

As reported on GizmoChina, some leaks are also saying that the smartphone will have a 4,500 mAh battery, will come in different RAM variants with 4G B and 6 GB options, will be available in different storage variants with 64 GB and 128 GB options, and will run on a MediaTek's Helio P25 processor, which is suitable for smartphones with dual cameras. Now, the company is all set to launch Redmi Note 4A in the country.

The Redmi 4 Prime might launch as is (as the "Prime" moniker is already used on the previous phone) but with different specs.

The phones will be Amazon exclusive and the online retail giant confirmed this via a tweet. There is no fingerprint scanner on the Redmi 4A.

The launch event, scheduled for March 20 in New Delhi, could see as much as four Redmi devices announced by the company - the Redmi 4, the Redmi 4 Prime, the Redmi 4X and the Redmi 4A. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, an MIUI 8 operating system based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, a 3GB RAM, a 32GB internal storage expandable up to 256GB, a 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and LED flash, 5MP front-snapper with f/2.2 aperture, and a 4,100mAh battery.

The interested Mi fans who want to purchase the upcoming Mi TV can pre-order the same from the Mi home and get a discount of 100 yuan off the final price tag of this device while actually buying the product. Camera department of Redmi 4A comprises of a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5 MP front shooter. The Redmi 3S series was also made in India, and whether Xiaomi's new Redmi phone will follow the same pattern remains to be seen. Under the hood, it is powered by a four-core Snapdragon 425 chipset with a 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 processor and Adreno 308 GPU, which is accompanied by 2GB of RAM.

Coolpad has launched a new budget smartphone in India called Coolpad Note 5 Lite. However, Xiaomi said that it would only sell the Mi Mix in China.
