Monopoly is set to see some new additions, as the wheelbarrow, thimble and boot got the kick after being voted out of the game by fans. The new tokens were three of 64 contenders, which also included a trumpet, a roller skate, a cowboy boot and a bow tie.

"It seems that the thimble, boot and wheelbarrow tokens didn't resonate with today's fans, while conversely, the animal tokens pull at their heartstrings". Hasbro announced the replacements ahead of World Monopoly Day.

The least popular token was a rain boot, which pulled in a mere 7,239 votes. More than 4 million people in over 100 countries voted, according to a statement released by Hasbro.

Rounding the eight game token are holdovers Scottie the dog, top hat, cat, race auto and battleship.

So, enjoy having to give all your Monopoly money to a dinosaur the next time you land on Park Place. The duck came in fifth, and the penguin placed seventh. Voters could choose from over 50 options, including old standards like the top hat and Scottie dog, and more modern designs like a hashtag and emoji. If you're a big fan of penguins, rubber duckies and T-rexes, you're in luck: those are the three new pieces.

Some of the success of the tokens making their way into, or keeping their spot in the MONOPOLY game can be attributed to many brands and organizations campaigning for select tokens. It'll be joined on the sidelines by soon-to-be former tokens shoe and wheelbarrow.

Prior to this revision, the most recent lineup change occurred when the cat was swapped in for the iron. The announcement comes two days before World Monopoly Day, March 19.
