Wooing fails: Free-agent OL TJ Lang reportedly chooses Lions over Seahawks

Lang owned Scott Mitchell and Charlie Batch jerseys growing up, and thinks it's pretty cool that now his son will be able to wear a T.J. Lang Lions jersey.

Lang, 29, has spent the last eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers, and said they were a finalist along with the Lions and Seattle Seahawks on the Suburban Ford 7 Sports Cave Sunday morning. Jahnke also said Lang's run-blocking grade went up in four straight seasons before his 2016 Pro Bowl campaign and wrote "the combination of his pass- and run-blocking landed him fifth on our list of starting guards last season".

Lang didn't play a big part in their Super Bowl season of 2010, but has been a starter in every game since, missing only five games since 2011, playing in 13 past year. "Honestly, it was exciting a little bit of the time, but it was stressful". "Took a visit to Detroit, had a great visit there with all the coaches and everybody. I was no different and when this opportunity came about I got really excited about it". And I didn't want to make any rash decisions. "I'm glad I've only had to do this one time in my career". He signed a multi-year contract with the New Orleans Saints earlier in the week.

Lang will also be joining Ricky Wagner on the Detroit offensive line. They have now invested heavily in their offensive line this offseason, as they signed former Ravens right tackle Rick Wagner to a deal worth over $9 million per season earlier this week.
