Police have sent their investigative findings to the district attorney's office and are withholding the suspect's name until prosecutors decide whether to charge the suspect.

Hussain Saeed Alnahdi, 24, a student attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout, died after being beaten near a pizzeria in downtown Menomonie early October 30, police said, and he died Monday. It said the suspect was not a student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and was not a resident of Dunn County.

Alnahdi, 24, from Saudi Arabia, was fatally assaulted Halloween weekend in downtown Menomonie.

"Through the course of the investigation, the MPD hasn't found any evidence that would suggest the death of Hussain Alnahdi was a hate crime", according to the release.

Alnahdi was found unconscious outside Toppers Oct. 30.

Anyone with information about the assault of Alnahdi is asked to call Menomonie police investigator Kelly Pollock at 715-231-8511.

Alnahdi, a junior business administration student from Saudi Arabia, died October 31 after being beaten and found unconscious the day before in downtown Menomonie.

"As a university we would like to express our appreciation of the efforts of the Menomonie Police Department that have brought the case to this point, and we pledge our support for their efforts to bring this suspect to justice". Police said the investigation remains ongoing.

Alnahdi, who grew up in the north-central Saudi city of Buraydah, enrolled at UW-Stout in 2015.
