President-elect Donald Trump and Mayor Bill de Blasio met at Trump Tower in Manhattan Wednesday morning, amid ongoing protests and concerns over immigrants' rights in the city.

According to Politico, Trump and Romney are set to meet over the weekend.

During the 2012 presidential debates with President Obama, Romney took the very strong position that Obama did not sufficiently appreciate or respond to the security threat to America from Putin and Russian Federation.

Early on during the primary campaign, Romney led opposition to Trump within the Republican Party and warned against his selection as the nominee.

The former MA governor said in June if Trump would be elected president, he could legitimize racism and bigotry and change the moral fabric of American society.

The meeting comes as there have been reports that Trump is considering appointing Ronna Romney McDaniel, Romney's niece, to run the Republican National Committee.

"There are a number of people who claim that Mr. Trump is a con man, a fake - thank you", Romney stated.

"He'll be one of those that's reviewed, and Mr. Trump will make that decision", he said. He slammed the NY businessman as a "phony" and a "fraud".

Not only did Trump's team announce Wednesday night that his incoming administration would have zero registered lobbyists, but for any members of his administration who leave moving forward, they would be barred from lobbying for five years.

Trump had propelled himself as the president-elect by framing himself as an anti-establishment outsider. One of those names is former Central Intelligence Agency director and USA army general David Petraeus, reports the Guardian, citing several sources.
