Kevin White is injured yet again.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Kevin White is headed to injured reserve after he suffered a severe high ankle sprain that resulted in a fractured fibula in his left leg, general manager Ryan Pace announced Wednesday. "It's a completely different bone in the lower leg". It's an unrelated issue though.

White exited Sunday's matchup with the Lions in the third quarter with an ankle injury and limped off the field, unable to return. Many thought this would be a break out season for the receiver, as it was expected for White to make the big plays he was known for during his time at West Virginia.

White had a shin injury that cost him the entire 2015 season. It's one or the other.

This injury is on the same leg as the injury that caused him to miss last season- but the two injuries are not related.

White is eligible to return in eight weeks. The growth of young players like White, running back Jordan Howard and a litter of secondary cubs over the course of the season is what the fan base is counting on tracking. WR Alshon Jeffery has a long injury history that he can never shake. Expect tight end Zach Miller's role in the offense to grow even further. Deep threat Deonte Thompson is someone else to pay attention to. Marquess Wilson, who is on the physically-unable-to-perform list with a foot injury, is eligible to return to practice October 14.

Many Bears fans believe White should have done more and produced at Jerry Rice levels right out of the gate but, in reality, he was actually ahead of schedule, and improving. Josh Bellamy and practice squad rookie Daniel Braverman are also two options down the stretch.

"He (Thomas) probably didn't do a whole lot until year three, " Fox said.
