The trailer for Fifty Shades Darker has been viewed 114 million times across all platforms in the first 24 hours of release, according to Universal. The official trailer for the sultry Dakota Johnson-Jamie Dornan romance premiered online two days ago and easily eclipsed Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the most viewed trailer on a single day.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is due out on February 10, 2017, with "Fifty Shades Freed" out on February 9, 2018.

The first version, Fifty Shades of Grey earned a record number of collections keeping reviews and criticism aside.

Tuesday's trailer release was preceded by a 20-second teaser on Monday that primed fans for the full clip.

The highly anticipated film, based on author E.L. James's bestsellers, picks up after Anastasia leaves Christian. The final installment in the saga, Fifty Shades Freed arrives a year later on February 9, 2018.

Fifty Shades Darker is directed by James Foley (Fear, House of Cards) and once again produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Marcus Viscidi, alongside E L James, the creator of the culture-spanning blockbuster series. At the global box office, the first installment of this series was able to make $571 million. This goes to show the power of Fifty's fans.
