PCB announces dates for first day-night Test against Windies

The Central Broward Regional Park, with a seating capacity of 15,000, in Fort Lauderdale (USA) will be sold-out for two-match T-20 series between reigning World T-20 champions West Indies and former champions India to be played on August 27 and 28.

The Indians are coming into the T20 tournament on a high after a 2-0 series test win against the Carribeans. Of course the likes of Gayle, Bravo and Russell made the West Indies team much more stronger.

"This is the first time that I'll be working with MS".

The West Indies will tune up for the day-night Test with a three-day side game in Sharjah, also under lights.

"I knew handling the team in these circumstances would be a massive challenge but the thought in my mind was that if the Almighty had given me the opportunity to lead the team, He would assist me to make it a better unit, too". We have seen teams dismissed for double digits and teams also scoring in excess of 200.

"It was one of my goals and dreams when I was a young boy and started to love cricket and started to think about representing the West Indies".

Despite his heroics in Mumbai, 28-year-old Brathwaite is a lightweight when it comes to worldwide experience, having played just three Tests, 14 ODIs and eight Twenty 20s. "I think his (Brathwaite's) mindset is to continue from where Darren Sammy left off and keep up the good work. That is the mindset of all the players coming in to these games".

For India, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is in second position in the MRF Tyres ICC Player Rankings for T20I Bowlers after a creditable show in Zimbabwe a few months ago when India won the T20I series 2-1.

"It could be a bit different but I think there are only three players here who played in that series", he noted. "While I tried to explain these guys how Cricket is played, they in return taught me the finer details of Basketball", said Indian opener Dhawan.

"We prepare for the two days here the same way we would have prepared before". We've played together over a long period of time. The stadium recently hosted six Caribbean Premier League matches.

Simmons said having a full strength squad made life easier for West Indies, as most of the players possessed vast experienced in the shortest format.

"For me the biggest series win in these six years for us was clean sweeping England 3-0 in the UAE in 2012".

"I was thinking this was going to be a makeshift venue, having never seen this. So I'd like the same from him".

The current head coach of West Indies recollected fond memories of beating India in the World T20 semifinal in Mumbai and said that playing against top sides serves as a motivation to do well.
