While fans couldn't be more excited about the return of Nashville, they may be a little disappointed to know that two characters will not be returning for the show's new season on CMT.

Sources tell THR that the two actors will most likely be the only cast members who will not return to the show.

Will Chase joined Nashville as a recurring character in Season 2, which ended with Luke and Rayna getting engaged.

Memorable television appearances include Pat Mahoney on "Rescue Me", "Royal Pains", "Pan Am", "White Collar", "Blue Bloods", and "Law & Order Criminal Intent". For Season 4, Luke's story largely revolved around him flipping his opinions about the outed musician Will Lexington and trying to get Will's career off the ground despite a potential backlash from homophobic listeners.

According to TVLine, Audrey Peeples (Layla Grant) and Will Chase (Luke Wheeler) will no longer be appearing on the show.

Meanwhile, Peeples' Layla sought to avenge Jeff Fordham's death by ruining Juliette's relationship with Avery, but Avery's discovery of her plan - and his seemingly imminent reunion with Ms. Barnes - meant the end of that storyline.

The series also has new showrunners, with Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick taking over for Dee Johnson. With the help of Lionsgate TV, the production company for 'Nashville, ' viewers launched a campaign on Twitter that brought other networks to the table to discuss bringing the show back for a fifth season.

When the series was renewed in June, Jayson Dinsmore, the head of development at CMT, explained that the network aimed to avoid any major casting shake-ups during the transition.
