Microsoft calls time on new features to ready Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows 10 Mobile Build 14364 is now available for testing to the Windows Insider Fast Ring, with more improvements and bug fixes for issues highlighted in the previous builds of the OS. It was the first time I'd had to use it, and things went smoothly enough, even if it took forever to get everything setup again afterwards. Have you installed this build yet?

If you're using a Windows operating system, chances are you've encountered those persistent message to upgrade to Windows 10. While a good news for public, Insiders won't be seeing any "significant new features in builds for a little while".

And on the PC the keyboard shortcut for the Feedback Hub has changed. Full-screen Remote Desktop windows now unsnap correctly while being prompted for credentials after users attempt a connection. Quests are used by Microsoft to encourage users to put test builds of Windows 10 through their paces and report their results by adding a dash of gamification to the proceedings, a tactic increasingly used by enterprise software providers to foster employee engagement and reap the benefits of digital work styles. Otherwise, Microsoft Office very much remains a premium product that you'll have to buy. The browser add-on provides quick access to the Web-based versions of Office applications along with files stored on Microsoft's cloud, courtesy of OneDrive and OneDrive for Business integrations.

After the announcement from the Microsoft that he is going to buy LinkdIn for around 26 million dollars on Monday, Microsoft releases the update for the Windows 10 on Tuesday.

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update, otherwise known as Redstone, is due for official release in a few weeks' time, and there are few new features but many fixes, as explained by Dona Sarkar, the new head of Microsoft's Windows Insider programme, on the Windows Experience blog.

A number of issues have also been fixed. The Centennial App converter has also been fixed and updated in this build.

On the other hand, Windows 10 tends to install upgrades when your computer restarts, so if you're not on an SSD, you might have to wait a little longer if your PC restarts for no reason. This also brings battery and lock-screen improvements to the mobile. Now, the company has cautioned developers who have not updated their apps and games with the new age rating system, stating that if they do not comply, their applications will be removed from the Windows Store by September 30, 2016.

There has been quite a controversy over this selective release as the users of other popular devices such as the Lumia 520, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1320 are upset that their devices have not received this update.

And with this update, Microsoft is also kicking off the Windows 10 Anniversary Update June Bug Bash.
