Microsoft Surface Phone Won't Have An Expiry Date

That's because the Surface Phone is believed to be closely tied to the next blockbuster Windows 10 update, codenamed RedStone 2, scheduled for April next year. Excitingly, the Surface Phone will likely be the first handset to sport this new processor.

That's a tasty combination indeed, and with any hardware, it's always good to have a nice healthy guarantee period (Microsoft only provides a one-year guarantee as standard). The image shows that the device has an all-metal body, much like the Surface Pro 4 tablet and the device will pack a 3300 Mah battery.

The leak also reveals that the device will come with a USB-C port as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The platform was eventually replaced by Windows 10 Mobile as part of Microsoft's effort to unify all of the platforms that it is supporting. Anyone who's still developing for mobile Windows devices is probably doing it as a labor of love more than anything, with major apps dialing back support as well.

This report is yet to be corroborated but is entirely possible if Microsoft is determined to make the Microsoft Surface Phone stand out. Nonetheless, shrinking market share and a series of moves that have effectively deemphasized mobile do little to encourage developers to devote any resources at all to an ecosystem that appears to be in its final throes.

Right now, the eyes of the tech community are on the Microsoft Surface Phone. What kind of world will it be born into?

Apparently, it is happening that as Alcatel is going ahead with its plans to launch a high-end Windows 10 Mobile device that would be featured with specs outclassing similar to the flagship Lumia 950 XL. According to a report by Engadget, the newly released tablets remind users of Microsoft's flagship tablets with their touch screens features, stands and portable keyboards. The Surface Phone has been anticipated to be under development since quite some time, and it has now been anticipated for almost a year. We will continue to innovate across devices and on our cloud services across all mobile platforms.
