Kenneth Amyx 'murders Jennifer Streit-Spears, posts photo on Facebook'

Streit-Spears' friends were horrified to see the photos - an image of the 43-year-old woman's body that appeared to show her throat slashed, and a selfie allegedly showing Amyx with the body - posted for up to 36 hours before Facebook removed it.

Streit-Spears' sister saw the pictures and called the police who had to force their way into the couple's apartment.

"Facebook has always been a place where people share their experiences and raise awareness about important issues", the spokesperson explained. He is being held in the Collin County jail on $600,000 bail.

"I did ask them to remove it several times", the sister, who asked to remain anonymous, told the Daily Dot.

Friends of Jennifer Streit-Spears, say the image on her Facebook page of murder remains.

A Facebook spokesperson told the local TV station that even though the photo was flagged, it didn't violate its graphic content policy and that their hands were tied until it could prove that Spears' profile was hacked.

Amyx was also found in the house with superficial stab wounds that are believed to be self-inflicted, police said. Despite her attempts to report the graphic images to Facebook, the photos were not taken down until Monday evening.

"They told me I could block Jennifer if I didn't like what she posted and gave me other similar options". However, the grisly photos are now no longer "on the public version of Streit-Spears page". Amyx faces a charge of "Continuous Sex Abuse of a Child under the age of 14" in Rockwall County, and another charge of "Indecency with a Child" in Dallas County. That post is now evidence in the case. Amyx has also been convicted on indecent exposure to a child charges in Dallas County.
