Nyle DiMarco Stuns to 'The Sound of Silence'

Dancing With The Stars, which is the United States version of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, is set to return in September.

She just won season 22 of Dancing With The Stars with Nyle DiMarco.

The first week, I just wasn't sure.

DiMarco has used his platform to raise awareness for the deaf community, discussed his advocacy work in a celebratory post on Facebook this morning.

Their win comes one night after they performed what judge Carrie Ann Inaba called the best in DWTS history.

That left us with Paige & Mark and Nyle & Peta.

Towards the end of the finale night, Zee and Chmerkovskiy landed in third place. The first hour was full of featured performances of all the season's dancers.

"I never dreamed", DiMarco said of being crowned this season's victor. "Thank you for showing us your lovely heart when you dance", she signed.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to defeat the mirror ball winners Peta Murgatroyd and America's Next Top Model victor Nyle DiMarco.

Head judge Len Goodman stated that DiMarco showed the world "the only boundaries are the one we put on ourselves".

The model-turned-actor has shown a great rapport with Peta Murgatroyd, a professional dancer who's happy to be a part of this victory.

Zee, 35, started out moderately strong and continued to blossom, going on to win frequent praise from the three judges for her dance ability as well as her dance floor charisma.

The 35-year-old fought through a pelvic injury on Monday but earned only 27 out of 30 points in her last dance.

Maples was voted off earlier in the competition and returned to shimmy to one last dance.

If you've not seen tonight's finale of season 22 of the hit ABC series "Dancing With the Stars" read no further! Jodie Sweetin & Keo Motsepe served up an encore performance of their perfect-scoring jive routine. A dewy-eyed Peta said it was "an wonderful feeling" and that she "owed everything" to Nyle. Additionally, brothers Maksim and Valentin Chmerkovskiy gave the fans a sneak peek of the sensational dance show they will be performing across America over the summer: Maks & Val Live On Tour: Our Way.
