Kate Middleton looks just peachy at London's National Portrait Gallery

The Duchess of Cambridge has revealed that her family has welcomed a new addition - in the form of a pet hamster.

While at the event, Duchess Kate reportedly told one of the children in attendance that her kids have a pet hamster named Marvin!

"[She] said she had a hamster, and [Princess] Charlotte really likes it because the whiskers always tickle her face".

The clothes Kate really set the tone for the day when she arrived for the photoshoot in jeans and a parka jacket, her hair in big rollers.

Royal fans were hoping that George would accompany his mother to the engagement, but sadly the little Prince was absent.

Elodie told PEOPLE, "She asked us what lessons we were missing and how school is". Also, the duchess had been noted to neglect her responsibilities on her charity work.

The portraits from this shoot are also on display at the ongoing "Vogue 100: A Century of Style" exhibition at London's National Portrait Gallery.
