UNC, Michigan State and - a bit surprisingly - Texas A&M round out rest of the president's final Final Four. It'll be fairly depressing if two of Mark Turgeon's former teams (Kansas and Texas A&M) make the last four while Maryland doesn't, though.

"Bill Self owes me," Obama said of the Jayhawks coach while filling out his bracket on ESPN. "I didn't want to get carried away", said Obama, who was born in Honolulu and spent most of his childhood here.

As he moved on to the upper right hand corner of the bracket, President Obama didn't have as much to say about WVU as he did UNC, Indiana and Kentucky. "Breanna Stewart is going to win championships every year that she's there".

"In addition to helping keep me honest, your note gave me the sense you're a talented young lady with some serious potential", Obama wrote. He has No. 13 Hawaii, his home state, beating No. 4 Cal.

"You are a great president, just not the best bracket picker", Emilia wrote.

This marks his third time picking Kansas to win it all, after selecting the Jayhawks in 2010 and 2011. The president said he often goes with proven programs that have a history of winning.

The next year, Mr. President had Indiana as champs, only to see the Hoosiers fall to Syracuse Indiana the Sweet 16 as Louisville cut down the nets. "Coach K or Coach Izzo or Coach Self or Coach Calipari - they know how to take, even if they're blue-chip freshman, and mold them so that (by) the time the tournament comes around they're ready".

Obama, continuing a tradition he started with ESPN in 2009, made the last NCAA Tournament picks of his presidency Wednesday and chose Kansas to win the national championship.
