Frank Sinatra Jr., singer and son of legendary entertainer Frank Sinatra, died on March 16 following a heart attack, his family has confirmed. "He was a good father as it was within his power", he said.

His real name was Francis Wayne Sinatra - his father's full name was Francis Albert Sinatra - but he went professionally by Frank Sinatra Jr.

Frank Sinatra Sr. was born on Monroe Street in Hoboken, New Jersey. An announcement on the venue's Facebook page said the singer had taken ill. "Well, after my friends had revived me with the smelling salts", he told the Guardian in 2012, "I said to him, 'You can't be serious?'" "I was trying to sell antiques in a modern appliance store".

That was the only time Frank Sinatra sang at the McCallum and it was the first time his son conducted for him, though Sinatra Jr. would be his father's conductor for the last seven years of the elder Sinatra's life. His father Frank Sinatra reportedly paid close to $240,000 at the time for his release.

In the years before his father's death in 1998, Sinatra Jr served as the iconic singer's musical director and conductor.

Married in 1998 to Cynthia McMurrey, they divorced in 2000.

The younger Sinatra also did some acting, appearing as himself in an episode of The Sopranos and was a reoccurring character on the animated show Family Guy.

Sinatra Jr. continued his father's legacy and started to perform his songs and arrangements on tours.

Reminiscing in 2002 about growing up when his father was one of the biggest musical stars of his era, Frank Sinatra Jr. said in an interview that he had seen "all the top stars perform". "Thoughts with his mother Nancy, sisters Nancy and Tina and his son Michael".
